DISCIPLESHIP

Read the Bible in a year (again … with my favorite plan) Facilitating the Bible study for moms has helped me stay in The Word nearly every day, and most days I read more than what’s required because once I start it’s difficult to stop. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Old Testament, which I’m pretty fond of simply because of the stories, people, and events leading to Jesus himself.

Facilitate a Bible study for women and mothers I began facilitating Becoming MomStrong, a brand new book and Bible study by Heidi St. John about Biblical motherhood and raising the next generation of Christians. It’s a really great study and the response from women in the church, JUMPS preschool, and local community has been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, we had to move this group of women to the largest room in the Education Building. Plus, our children and youth discipleship groups have 35-40 new participants every Wednesday evening. As a staff, we prayed for more families to become involved, we didn’t realize they’d show up all at once. God is so good and has a great sense of humor!

MEANINGFUL TO OTHERS

Get to know our neighbors Lacy and I are connecting more often and we’re scheduling a play-date for the boys really soon. It’s great to finally have a neighbor that will wave when you meet each other on the road!
Gather with girlfriends every quarter ( 1 2 3 4 )
Serve on a mission trip

Invest in Britton Z. I’m so proud of this girl. She graduated high school (Jan 11) at 16 then applied to her dream school – The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) – and got accepted!!!!! She was nervous (terrified, actually) about a few details in the process and making the announcement to loved ones, but it all worked out well. She’ll begin her professional culinary training in San Antonio next fall. Britton is going places … and baking delicious cupcakes along the way! 🙂

Mommy & Kamden “date” ( 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ) It’s not the most exciting mom-and-me date we’ve ever had, but Kamden immensely loved riding all over the city and country delivering Bible study materials to my mom friends. We had spent over a week at home, stuck inside, because it was so bitterly cold. It was time to get out for fresh air!

PERSONAL

Clean out my inbox once and for all I still have a long way to go to clean out my actual email inbox but I unsubscribed from 531 accounts last week. It’s puzzling to me how many lists I get myself on without much effort.
Drink 50 ounces of water every day I’m not keeping an accurate record, but I am drinking more water. 
Take a daily multivitamin and probiotic
Read 5 books ( 1 2 3 4 5 )
Spend 10 minutes a day in solitude for prayer and meditation (no phone, no Internet, no distractions)
Save $300 each month ( 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ) January: check.
Prepare one new dish a month ( 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ) BBQ Sloppy Joes – combine two pounds of ground beef with BBQ sauce and serve on toast or buns. Husband grew up eating this meal and since we had a lot of sauce leftover from a to-go order at Spring Creek BBQ, he asked me to make Sloppy Joes, his way. Surprisingly, it turned out amazing and Kamden devoured it too. That’s a double win for this Mama!

Fill my gratitude jar with these heart-shaped tags My Mason jar has several tags already inside!
Stop picking at my face I’m working on this … and my complexion actually looks decent right now. I’m washing it at least twice a day, applying a multi-vitamin serum and moisturizer, and using a Younique detox mask twice a week, graciously gifted to me by Miss C. (Thanks, Love!)

CHURCH MINISTRIES & LEADER DEVELOPMENT

Host staff lunch in my home once a quarter ( 1 2 3 4 )
Attend two (2) professional development events
Coordinate two #LoveThe558 service days
Host a conference
Change the felt letter board in my office at least once a week This would be possible if I knew WHERE my felt board actually was … I remember using it at Christmas but I haven’t seen it since. 
Create an Instagram account for the church

MAKE A NEW RESOLUTION EVERY MONTH

January: purchase a new pair of Sperry boat shoes (such as theseI didn’t buy the Sperry boat shoes but I found a pair of Born sandals on clearance at a boutique in Granbury. Born + Clearance = DEAL!!!

February: give up AND add something meaningful for Lent
