Resolution Update // March 2017

It’s springtime in Texas, which means bluebonnets are blooming and severe weather is causing Yours Truly to sleep with her toddler because he hates thunderstorms and lightening. Today, March 31, 2017 is a special day in our house. Husband and I are celebrating our TENTH wedding anniversary!!!! Woo Hoo for a DECADE of marital bliss, y’all.

ORGANIZATION

Use my Prayerful Planner every day – March is pretty empty since I was out of town the week of Spring Break and I’ve had family visiting too. Luckily, I’m keeping up with Post-It notes!
Decorate my office (paint, hang diploma, arrange bookshelves, etc.)
Hire a housekeeper for deep cleaning (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12) – Three months down, nine more to go!
Unsubscribe from excessive blogs, websites, newsletters, etc.
Clean email inbox every Thursday
Organize photos and graphics on my laptop

DISCIPLESHIP

Read the Bible in a year (using 5-day method and the Slacker’s Plan) – Drifting farther behind!!!
Write a prayer or reflection in a daily journal
Continue monthly tithe to church (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12) – Three months down!
Begin an Inductive Bible Study – During the 40 days of Lent, I’m combining Inductive (in-depth) Bible Study with journaling and coloring with this book.
Attend a women’s conference

MEANINGFUL TO OTHERS

Do something special for our 10th wedding anniversary I’m cooking a special dinner (surf and turf) of grilled tenderloin and shrimp, plus we’re getting celebratory cupcakes baked by Miss B. Yum!!!!
Keep my great-grandmother’s aloe vera plants aliveFAILURE. I sat the plants outside to get some much needed sunshine and the neighbor’s dogs absolutely destroyed the plants, the potting soil, and broke the pots they were in. 

PERSONAL

Prioritize my physical health (renew my gym membership, start jogging again, etc.)

Post to blog 2x/week I’m really going to work on this specific goal because there are so many post drafts I have waiting to finish and others I need to draft before I lose my memory. Plus, there are some great photos I want to share from recent trips and experiences I’ve had. 

CHURCH MINISTRIES & LEADER DEVELOPMENT

Host staff lunch in my home (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12) – March 22: I served BBQ pulled pork sliders, pasta salad, and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Create a communications plan with social media schedule
Attend Change the World conference, March (Ginghamsburg, Ohio)SUCCESS! Six of us from FUMC Joshua attended this conference at Ginghamsburg Church in Ohio. I had the pleasure of seeing friends I met last year as well as several incredible guest speakers, including Olu Brown (who’ve I’ve met before) and Carey Neiuwhof, one of my favorite church leaders and bloggers. 
Launch a small group for team leaders
Find a mentor and be a mentor
Create a continuing education and life skills program for adultsUNDERWAY! The church has partnered with a local school district who has a state and federal grant to provide free GED classes to adults, which is awesome and cool, but the icing on the cake: FUMC Joshua will provide free childcare to participants! I’m so excited to see this program launch April 4. It’s a great opportunity for the church to BE the church and LIVE our mission: love God, grow in grace, and serve others!
Expand the backpack ministry to four elementary schools in Joshua ISD
