1. My favorite Christmas tradition
hands down, is going to church on Christmas Eve. Listening to the Christmas story (for the millionth time), singing carols, and smelling sweet poinsettias all while in the worship center with the lights down and the space filled with candles is truly amazing. Later tonight, we’re going to Christmas Eve service and having dinner with friends. I’m really looking forward to the festivities!

Speaking of traditions, I’d like to start a Christmas tradition with Kamden, but I don’t know what to do. Suggestions are welcome. No Elf on the Shelf though, that thing creeps me out and, personally, I think the idea is ridiculous.

2. My most memorable Christmas
was last year (2013) right after Kamden was born and he was our orange Santa baby. I didn’t realize how jaundice’d he actually was until I later found these pictures. This kid was glowing like a jack-o-lantern on Halloween!!!!!

But, alas, he recovered swiftly and all is well. Even though, technically, this will be his second Christmas, we’re celebrating like it’s his first. Though it probably won’t be until next Christmas (2015) that he gets really excited about presents and Santa. Right now, he’s still over-the-moon excited about the half-deflated balloons still hanging around from our birthday parties. The kid is easy to please, what can I say?!

3. The best gift(s) I’ve ever received
of course I’ve got to acknowledge God’s infinite grace; Husband’s devotion; Kamden’s unconditional love, my family and genuine friends. Materialistically, the best gifts I’ve received include Le Creuset cookware (and lots of it!), a Nikon DSLR camera, and a trip to the Holy Land to name just a few!

4. The gift I’d rather forget
I can’t think of a “bad” gift I’ve been given. Except, perhaps, the too-small pajamas I received from my mom’s godmother. I believe I was 15 or 16, wearing adult size clothing, and she sent a pajama set with Disney princesses in a little girl’s size. Obviously, I never told Aunt E and accepted her gift with a smile, but I never got to wear those stylish jammies because they were way too small!!!!
