Finish This #21

Welcome to Week 21 of Finish This! This link-up is hosted by LISA (COASTLINED), JEN (The Arizona Russums), BECKY (The Java Mama) and I and we’re so glad you’re here. If you’ve joined us before, thanks for returning! Be sure to add your post to the link-up. If you don’t have a blog, don’t worry. Simply answer the prompts in a comment. Next week’s prompts are at the bottom of this post.

Something special is planned for Week #25 of Finish This,
but you have to wait to find out what it is. HA!
In the meantime, update your blog post with this lovely new image created by Becky, one of our co-hosts.

1. The best mistake I ever made …
was meeting a guy I met online without telling any of my family and simply “trusting my gut” in hopes that he was who he said he was and I would be safe with him alone.

2. From this mistake, I learned …
it’s best to inform your family and friends of your intentions, just to be safe, but trusting your gut can work in your favor too. Now, 11 years later, that guy I met online is now my husband and we’re happily married and the proud parents of the most precious, chunky five-month-old baby boy.

3. When I’m anxious, I tell myself …
to calm down and call your mother. Seriously, I’m 30 years old and there are some things only a mother understands. I love Husband dearly, but he’s not as soothing as my mom. Sorry, Husband.

4. All I really want to do is …
have a career that involves human resources, public relations, business development, and education with a family-friendly schedule and compensates me just enough to live comfortably. I’d really like to eat a salad with real Hidden Valley Ranch dressing and, basically, eat whatever I want without gaining weight. I wish I could watch other people exercise and reap the benefits.

Now it’s your turn. Answer these prompts in a post on your own blog or, if you do not have a blog, simply add your responses in a comment. Join us next Wednesday for another round of Finish This where we’ll answer the prompts below!

Prompts for WEEK 22 (June 4) are:
I conquer fear …
I follow my heart …
I feed my soul by …
I used to worry about ____ but then I …

Oh wouldn’t it be so nice to never gain weight and simply just eat whatever we wanted? Why can’t vegetables taste like peanut m&ms? I’d be so thin! Love this linkup! Thanks again for putting it on each week 🙂

I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, but my problem is the ‘in moderation’ part. I think every meal is my last. Ridiculous!!!!!

Week 25, that is like a month away… how do y’all expect us to sleep with this surprise over our heads 😉
I remember a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time ago… like LONGGGGGGG time ago, they had these ‘chat (party) lines’.. you call a local number and there are like 8 people on the line at once all talking at the same time and you have to get the attn of the person you ‘like’ and then they will call you.. cause cell phones did not exist back then and then you would meet up.. oh ya… that was a big mistake of mine that did not really have a good outcome… only bad outcome was that it wasted some time in my life..

I love the story of you meeting your husband online, such a cool story! I have also called my mother twice this morning, and it’s only noon here, so don’t feel bad lol

Yeah, we’re an online success story BEFORE it was popular. There wasn’t such a thing as eHarmony or or whatever else there is today. Just an old fashioned Yahoo chat room, whodathunkit 11 years later?!?! Even better than talking to my mom twice this morning, she’s planning another trip to Texas to visit us. Super stoked!!!!!

I’ve called my mother during some pretty events of my life and my kids have called me during some pretty anxious events of their lives. It’s really good to have someone to call when you just need support.

So glad I am finding out that I am not the only one who turns to their Mom during times of anxiety. Feels good that others do the same thing. It is true, nobody can help you and soothe you and talk you down like your Mom! If I were to check my phone right now I am sure my call log would tell me that I call her wayyy more than anyone else haha!
