What does your refrigerator say about you?
Since I can remember, the fridge has been a bulletin board of sorts. Growing up, my Dad worked insanely crazy rotating schedules at the coal mine, but he kept a calendar on the fridge so Mom and I would know if he was coming or going. Seriously, his schedule was CRAY-ZEE. For notes or grocery lists, Mom kept a Post-It pad on the fridge. During golf season, I kept a copy of my tournament schedule on the fridge along with scorecards, notes, and driving directions to courses. Not much has changed … the fridge in my kitchen today looks very similar!
According to my fridge ……. I need to clean more often.
Goodness, have you ever seen more fingerprints?! Husband found this stainless fridge on clearance a few years ago after our freezer and ice maker broke. My only complaint: the stainless front is not magnetized. For someone who decorates their refrigerator with magnets, this is a problem. It’s also NOT smudge proof.
According to my fridge ……. I am pregnant.
Yes, Kamden’s ultrasound pics are *taped* to the front of the fridge. I put them there when I took a picture to share with friends and family and never removed them. Can you tell this kid is already front-and-center of our lives and spoiled?
According to my fridge ……. I keep my life organized with a calendar that has plenty of space for writing events and appointments.
According to my fridge ……. I am married.
Our engagement photos are in mini-frames. Another favor we gave our guests was a custom magnet with our names and wedding date, there is one on the other side of the fridge.
According to my fridge ……. I collect magnets from places I’ve traveled.
I have visited some incredible places. Wherever I go, I always buy a magnet (or two) before I return home. My most prized magnets are from the Holy Land, Kentucky, and Washington, D.C. However, I must confess: there are several magnets from friends and THEIR travels. I have NOT been to California, Las Vegas, New York City, or Hawaii — yet.
According to my fridge ……. we have a horse.
Blue’s vet gave us a schedule for different brands of vaccination to use according to the season or time of year.
According to my fridge ……. I love my family and fur-babies.
I really want a Basset Hound, so I have a picture of a puppy on the fridge. Other fur-babies belonging to our family and friends are also pictured. I also keep photos of Husband’s grandmother and a dear family friend displayed on our fridge. Not a day goes by that I don’t look at these photos and remember Granny and Greg. Though I miss them like crazy, I know they are cancer-free and dancing with angels!
According to my fridge ……. I am sentimental.
I have handwritten notes, cards, and letters from friends that I will never throw away. Ever!
Rev. L, here is your shout-out. =)
According to my fridge ……. I workout.
The gym’s monthly class schedule is always handy.
According to my fridge ……. I have been recognized for my service and mission work by the Methodist Church in Haiti.
According to my fridge ……. I like the new Thai restaurant in town and saved their menu.
According to my fridge ……. I have Le Creuset cookware and matching mini-magnets!
When you spend THAT much for cookware, what’s another $9 for a set of magnets?
