The hills are alive with The Sound of Music …
While I don’t have any bright copper kettles or warm wool mittens (it’s still 85 degrees in Texas y’all), these are a few of my favorite things from 2012.
1. 50 Shades Trilogy by E.L. James
Of course this is numero uno on my list … did you have any doubt?!?!
2. Eclos Facial Cleanser
Thanks to this plant-based cleanser, my face has never felt or looked better. I’ve battled with pimples forever but this is the first product that actually works. Husband even commented on my clearer complexion. That’s front page worthy news right there!
3. Kindle Touch
Husband gave me a Kindle on Valentine’s Day and I love it. I still treasure the “real” books and will continue to buy them, but having a Kindle makes life so much easier … and luggage lighter. I no longer have to pack bulky books in my suitcase or carry-on and that makes me (and the airlines) much happier. =)
4. University of Kentucky
Despite the start to the current season, with a very young team of freshmen players, I have to keep reminding myself that developing talent takes time. However, UK’s men’s basketball team *DID* win the school’s 8th national championship in 2012. Despite losing to Duke and Baylor, I still wear my UK shirts and drink sweet tea from the UK Tervis© cup.
5. Manchego cheese
It might be weird, but cheese made my favorites list. Specifically, sheep’s milk cheese. I use Manchego on everything: salads, homemade pizzas and even mac-n-cheese.
Pinterest is so addicting.
7. Sperry Top Siders
I had a pair of cheap (knock-off brand) boat shoes before finally splurging (a grand total of $75) for a “real” pair of Sperry’s. Totally. Worth. It.
8. L’oreal BB Cream
Since using Eclos cleanser, I no longer have to hide my complexion under heavy concealer, foundation and powder. Nowadays, I simply use L’oreal’s BB Cream. It’s really cool too – comes out of the tube white before turning a shade that matches your complexion. It’s lightweight and hydrates without feeling greasy. It’s reasonably priced too, less than 10 dollars for a one-ounce tube.
