Fall Into Fall (a bloggy swap)

When Neely at A Complete Waste of Makeup posted about a fall swap, I knew I was in. She’s the same lovely lady who co-hosts the weekly Sunday Social, one of my all-time favorite blogging link-ups and definitely a “plus” to my weekends. The problem I had with this swap and gift exchange, however, was the timing …. and poor management on my part. *TOTALLY MY FAULT.* This swap took place during a VERY busy week not only in my personal life, but organizing and coordinating an event at church too. Sadly, I was late getting my gift to the post office but I spent a few dollars extra so my new pal would get it in time.

Of course, my pal is punctual and put together and sent her gift to me right on time. It arrived and I wanted to cry. When I opened the box, I cried even harder because she got the rotten end of this gift swap. I’ve got to make it up to her, I must. I must. I must.

Check out this *LOOT* of Halloween and fall-themed treasures Miss Ann sent me:

Ann is amazing and showered me with a TON of fall-related items. My church hosts a fall festival and “Trunk or Treat” event each Halloween night, so these items are perfect for my upcoming baking needs. Instead of candy, which is so full of sugar, I treat the little goblins to homemade cupcakes and cookies. Hey, at least my excessive sugary treats are homemade and full of love!!!!!!! =)

  • Pumpkin dish towels and candy bowl
  • a bag of Starbucks coffee (my Mom is going to be so excited when she gets to Texas and has SB coffee)
  • 8-piece *SPOOKY* cookie cutter set
  • two sets of decorative confections (who doesn’t love sprinkles?!)
  • mini packs of Kleenex tissues (oh, the irony)
  • small pillar candle with *Tree of Life* charm
  • a box of Boogers gummy and Mike & Ike candy (because eating boogers are so in style)
  • and, a bottle of dark blue nail polish (it’s perfect for Kentucky game day!!!!!)

I was really looking forward to painting my fingernails this lovely shade of blue but remembered that I chewed off my nails the day before during an emotional breakdown. Y’all, I’m *NOT* kidding when I say it’s been a stressful couple of weeks. I quit the awful habit of nail-biting in high school, I don’t know what came over me. {heavy sigh} Needless to say, I’m going to wait on the manicure.

While I’m waiting for my nails to grow, please hop on over to Annster’s Domain and say hello to my new blogging buddy and pal. Say hello, and share some of your sweet, Southern (if you are), wholesome hospitality.
