Button Swap | the September edition

Another month means a new set of button swappers, which I’m happy to introduce to you today. Before I do that, however, I must admit that I’m a woman and I’m hard to please and I’m indecisive and I didn’t like my previous button so I created something new but my graphic design skills are seriously lacking and this could possibly be the longest sentence known to mankind. (gasping for breath?) (Me too.) (Sorry.)

Have I mentioned before how much I am loving meeting new bloggers who instantly feel like life-long friends and reconnecting with friends who I haven’t seen in 10 years but picking up where we left off? This blogging business is fine stuff. I’m liking it more and more. I think I’ll continue. In the meantime, check out these lovely ladies’ blogs. Say hello and tell them I sent you. Hugs!!!! =)

Jen is a 20-something blogger writing about life, beauty, fashion, her husband and Yorkshire terrier, and everything in between. She’s also a Texan living in the bustling metropolis of New York City. I can only imagine how awesome her life is in that big city … NYC is on my bucket list! Jen recently got a *SURPRISE* at her workplace that involved a butt workout DVD and a box of cupcakes. (Say wha?) Personally, she can keep the DVD but I’d like to dive into one of those cupcakes! Hey, things are done a little differently up there in that big ol’ city. I admire her work ethic and drive though, the girl definitely deserves that box of cupcakes and I can’t wait to hear how her *HUGE* presentation went …. Go Jen! =)

Emily and I go wayyyyyyy back. As in, our diaper days in Kentucky!!!! Em (short for Emily) is a beautiful wife and mother to two very handsome little boys. She and her family lived on the beach in Florida, moved to the piney woods in East Texas, and now they reside in South Texas. Despite the physical distance, Em and I stay connected online. She blogs about daily happenings and keeps a smile on my face. She also makes me feel ten-feet-tall-and-bullet-proof when she asks me administrative or technical questions about her WordPress blog. I feel so smart when she does that. Oh, get this crazy statement: Em and her two sisters all had a baby in 2012! Whatever they’re doing, it’s working. {wink}

Even though I’m *NOT* allowed to drink the water at Em’s house (pregnancy is contagious, right?!), I’ve decided to visit Em in the very near future to enjoy a margarita snowcone from the nearby stand. The “adult” variety comes complete with a shot (or two) of Tequila and crushed sea salt. I’m not joking and I’m incredibly jealous. In fact, I’m turning 50 shades of green.GREEN, I said green people. Keep your panties on.

Who wouldn’t love a blog with a name like Sugar in My Grits?! If I liked grits, I’d probably put some sur-gah in them. But, unfortunately, I don’t like grits and there’s not enough sweetener, salt, or ketchup to change my mind. Grits and pig’s feet are on my Don’t Eat List. Anyway …. Jessica is a doll and I love her blog! Her family consists of an Army veteran, three kids, 4 pitbulls, and 2 rabbits. She pretty much runs circles around me and is amazing with a capital A.

Hey, I just met you and this is crazy, but here’s my button so post it maybe?

Ohhhh no, I did *NOT* just quote those silly lyrics from *THAT* song that I’ll now be singing to infinity and beyond. Y’all have to meet my new friend, Nicole, at Life’s a Beach. Her blog title (what is with these super creative people and their adorable blog titles?!) alone is worth the click, don’t you think? I could go for a sit-down on a beach right now. Plus, Nicole and I could easily become best friends in an instant. We’re the same age, both married, both love dogs, both of us live in the country, and neither one of us knows what we want to do when we grow up. She’s also head-over-heels in love with her Husband, hates scary movies (me tooooooooo), and enjoys cooking and photography. See? I told you, we’re basically sisters from different mothers. Sisters with the same name? Whatever. We’re family and she’s invited to the front porch, sweet tea included.

Kristen and I met because we were assigned postcard-pals during a recent bloggers’ link-up event and, wouldn’t ya know, she’s been invited to my family’s Thanksgiving dinner too!!!!!!!! In fact, she’s *REALLY* part of the family now that her postcard is attached to the front of our fridge.

Dude, that’s serious status when you’ve earned a spot on the coveted ice-box.

Kristen is a sweetheart and we’re going to meet very soon because ….. wait for it ….. she lives in the DFW area too! Yep, we’re going to be friends in real life. Forget this online nonsense, we’re the real McCoy. (Or Hatfield? Does it really matter?) I’m hoping she’ll attend the Texas Bloggers meet-up next weekend, but I’m waiting to hear when her exam (to be licensed in occupational therapy) takes place. She’s been studying her tush off. The original test date was cancelled when the computers crashed the morning of and they sent all the test-takers back home. She cried, and I would have too. Keep her in your prayers, please. The girl is stressed and needs a big ol’ hug. And a glass of sweet tea. I’m happy to provide both.

I need to know if she’s the huggin’ kind though, nothing is more scary (and ridiculous) than a six-foot-tall woman with big boobs walking up to you, arms extended, going in for a big ol’hug. There’s a strong possibility for suffocation if one is not careful in my presence. Affection can be hazardous to one’s health.

Kristen, I’m warning you now. I just need to know these things. =)

There you have it …. another month of button swappers and I’m so grateful to have these ladies gracing the sidebar of my blog.

Have a great weekend too!

    You know I’ll gladly take her hugs if ever declined, suffocation included.

    Thanks for the introductions!

      BAHAHA I really don’t intentionally suffocate anybody, but it just comes with the natural appendages. Right?! LOL

      How could I forget sweet tea?! I’m ashamed of myself … especially since I’m sitting here watching college football, sipping sweet tea from a Mason jar, and working on blog posts!!!!!
