*The Organic God* ~ Summer Book Club with Margaret Feinberg {giveaway}

Before you finalize your summer plans, I’d like to invite you to a book club, hosted by Margaret Feinberg, reading the *THE ORGANIC GOD*.

The first time I read *THE ORGANIC GOD* was 2002. It was a gift from my aunt who had read it with her book club in Louisville, Kentucky. Before I finished the first page, I knew it was a book that I would enjoy. Margaret uses simplistic language (in all of her books!) and it’s like she’s sitting next to me and we are in conversation.

I describe God has organic. While it’s a word usually associated with food grown without chemical-based fertilizers or pesticides, organic is also used to describe a lifestyle: simple, healthful, and close to nature. Those are the things I desire in my relationship with God. I hunger for simplicity. I want to approach God in childlike faith, wonder, and awe. I long for more than just spiritual life but spiritual health — whereby my soul is not just renewed and restored by becomes a source of refreshment for others. Such a God-infused lifestyle requires me to step away from any insta-grow shortcuts and dig deep into the soil of spiritual formation found only in God.

Beginning June 11, Margaret will lead an online book discussion from her website. Every Monday, she will post insights from *THE ORGANIC GOD*. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with a group or Sunday school class, yet it’s perfectly suited for individuals too.

JOIN ME!!!!!!!!!

Listening to God’s voice requires more than just my ears; it requires my eyes, my mind, my spirit, my entire being to recognize the God-nudges in my life. Deep down inside I still hunger for a true, pure relationship with the Organic God — the One True God. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In him is found the mysterious wonder of the Trinity. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

For the giveaway, I’m offering ONE (1) set complete with *THE ORGANIC GOD* book, workbook, and DVD series.

If you would rather purchase now, click HERE. The set is normally $130, but Margaret has deeply discounted it for the summer reading series and you can purchase the entire set for $34.99. WHAT. A. DEAL.

I plan on directing VBS at church. That is something that I always look forward to. Besides working, I plan on sitting outside a lot to enjoy my hummingbirds and to spend time with my family. It seems that I can never get enough of that. I am also wanting to take a trip sometime to visit you cuz! Josh and I have talked about it and he has always wanted to visit Texas. We may have to visit sometime soon!

    • Nicole May 29, 2012 at 12:33 pm - Reply

You always coordinate VBS so well, I can’t imagine managing that chaos!!!!! I’m coming to KY late July / early August but I definitely want you and Josh to visit Texas. Of course, summertime is H-O-T but let’s plan something. While I’m home, we can sit and watch hummingbirds while we talk and catch up. (p.s. Have you read / Are you reading 50 Shades? You. Must. it’ll give us more to talk about it!!!!!!) Miss you! Love you!

Our summer plans will be all about “patiently waiting on the Lord” as we put our home up for sale in a less than stellar real estate market and make plans to move to another state.

Oh my, Tammy, that’s exciting yet nerve-wrecking all at once. Where are you relocating? If it’s to Texas, welcome to the neighborhood. If it’s to Kentucky, WAHOOO!!!! If it’s any state in the South, praise the Lawd!

      Good luck,

A wedding – how FUN!!!!!! You know, I’ve lived in Texas nearly 10 years and I have NEVER floated or “tuuuuuuuubed” down any river. I hear it’s a world wonder that should be experienced. I need to add that to my bucket list! Love you bunches.

I have a few big events scheduled on our calendar for this summer. However, the lost important of all the plans I’ve made, would be to spend more one on one time with my two eldest of three children, doing what they enjoy doing. For my son, it will be projects like creating something totally cool from a cardboard box. For my daughter, spending time twirling and dancing while developing her precious spirit for all things royalty. My plan, to weave God into each of this activities and make Him reachable for their minds.

    • Nicole May 31, 2012 at 1:49 pm - Reply

Hi Jennifer! Wow, you are one awesome-Mama with all of those plans for the summer! I’m an only child, so I didn’t have to worry about one-on-one time with my parents. I can’t wait to see this “cardboard box something,” please send me pictures!!!!!

      Nicole

So, I will be mostly engaged with my 3-year old son and trying to keep him busy in order to allow my husband some serious study time. I’m truly looking forward to this time with my boy.
